There are 3 levels in the design:Sealing level - filter paper fully attached to the flat top part of the dripper, so water cannot pass throughBrewing level - where the brewing process should take placeCoffee level - the ground coffee will fill the lower area, which has fewer ribs and more channels to encourage water flow, thus reducing the chance of over-extraction.
