Display Screen Open the battery compartment at the bottom, insert two AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Place it on a hard, flat surface. The display will remain as shown in Figure-1 for 2 seconds and then switch to Figure-2 after 2 seconds. The state in Figure-2 indicates it is ready for use. A\/ weight indicator, B\/ time indicator, C\/ low battery warning indicator. Explanations of Button Functions: ON\/OFF: Used to turn the device on and off. MODE: Press the button to change the unit of measurement. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds for the countdown option. START\/STOP: When in countdown or timer mode, pressing this button once starts the timer. Pressing it again stops the timer. Pressing the button again restarts the timer from where it left off. Pressing the button for a long time (three seconds) resets the timer to zero. TARE: Pressing this button once tares the scale. Pressing it for a long time cancels the automatic shut-off.
